Noise grid¹²

One dot per cell, pushed off centre by a Perlin field and coloured by the angle it was pushed at. Then: easing on the size, holes cut through it, sticks instead of dots, a pulse on the beat, a horizon. Most of the family was ported to GLSL — the CPU version leaked a cache that never repeated, which is why the rotating one only exists on the GPU.

A grid of coloured dots pushed off their cell centres by a noise field, on black.

Noise grid v1 — Basic

A grid of noise-driven dots whose sizes swell and shrink along an easing curve, on black.

Noise grid v4 — Pulse

A field of short rotated sticks aligned to a noise flow, overlapping into currents, on black.

Noise grid v5 — Stick

A dot field growing outward from the centre and faded away by a noise-modulated wave edge, on black.

Noise grid v6 — Distance check

A dot field swollen by a bass-like pulse, the dots overlapping into blobs, on black.

Noise grid v7 — Pulse field

Dots blown far past their cells by an unclamped easing curve, stacking into canvas-filling discs, on black.

Noise grid v9 — Drifting

Sticks of breathing length aligned to a noise flow, their hue snapping through an overshooting curve, on black.

Noise grid v10 — Variable stick

A rotating field of noise-driven dots, the whole grid turning as it flows, on black.

Noise grid v11 — Rotation

Glowing orange and cyan contours dissolving into a fine dot grid on black, like a field seen through heat.
