Noise grid v10 — Variable stick
The sticks of v5 with their length breathing on a sine and their hue eased with an overshoot, so the flow gains a tide.
Like v5, but the stick length breathes with a bounded sine wave and the hue comes from an easeOutBack mapping of the noise angle — a curve that overshoots before settling, which is what puts a snap in the colour rather than a fade.
Sticks still overlap, so each pixel scans its 5×5 neighbourhood and keeps the one drawn last, early-outing past the maximum possible reach.
