Splines v0 — Chaikin
A neon rainbow tube snakes through drifting points, rounded not by Bézier handles but by Chaikin corner-cutting, its dashed control polygon left visible.
A closed loop of glowing, spectrum-graded tube weaves through a scatter of marked points, the dashed control polygon and white markers left on show like a construction drawing. The points drift gently on their own noise loops, so the knot keeps re-tying itself without ever losing its rounded character.
The rounding needs no hand-placed control handles: each pass of Chaikin's corner-cutting replaces every corner with two weighted midpoints, and a few passes melt the polygon into a smooth curve that stays strictly inside it — quadratic-Bézier and Catmull-Rom strategies are offered for comparison, both also fed only the through-points. The dense polyline is uploaded to the GPU once per frame and redrawn per glow layer, the rainbow gradient computed in the shader, so the halo costs almost nothing.
