Spline text v1 — Saccade
A faint paragraph waits on screen while a neon spline reads it, resting on one word then leaping to trace the next — each landing lights its word up.
The whole text sits as a wrapped, centred paragraph in dim grey while a single cluster of spline control points rests on one word, shaped as its outline, then travels to the next and reshapes into that one — on through the paragraph and back around. The word under the cluster brightens, so the highlight walks the text like a reading eye.
Every word's outline is sampled into the same number of ordered points, so travelling is just lerping each control point from its slot in one word to its slot in the next, optionally staggered from one end of the curve so it unrolls instead of jumping. Mid-flight most points collapse onto chords between a sparse structural subset — the crossing reads as one clean strand rather than a knot — and that simplification fades out exactly as the cluster lands, restoring full glyph detail. Unlike the scribe sibling, the spline never dissolves into a random cloud: it only ever exists as words.
