Peaks — Plane

An aerial terrain planted with upright bristles: one Perlin field sets each quill's height while a second heaves the ground it stands on.

3dnoiseiridescent

A plane seen from a high angle, planted with rows of upright quills like grass on dunes: crests catch bright colour, valleys fall to near-black, and the relief slowly migrates as the loop plays. The camera keeps a constant downward tilt with only a small sway, so the piece reads as landscape rather than ornament.

Two independent Perlin fields, offset in noise space so they stay decorrelated, drive the terrain — one sets each column's spike length, the other lifts the base it grows from, putting undulation under the bristles. A quill is a run of dots eased from thin tip to fat base, and short quills get proportionally fewer dots, a level-of-detail trim that keeps the dense field affordable. Hue mixes colour noise with the height field, so the tall peaks sit in a different band than the floor.
