A hard-cut slideshow at its plainest: each photograph holds the frame for an equal slice of the loop, then the next replaces it outright.
One picture at a time, centred with an adjustable margin, and no transition of any kind — the frame simply is the next photograph the moment its slice of the loop begins. Fit, scale and cropping are the only styling.
The current index is the loop position multiplied by the number of pictures and floored; everything else is the shared fit-and-crop placement. It is the family's baseline — the switching rhythm that the fancier variants dress up with masks, blurs, tiles and grids.
