Noise strips v1
Vertical ribbons of fat stacked dots swing with a flowing noise field, hues flaring through the spectrum along each bend of the folded cords.
Sixteen columns of hundreds of overlapping round points hang down the canvas; each point slides sideways on a hidden angle, so the columns read as thick ribbons that straighten, kink and fold over one another as the field animates. Colour follows the folding: flat stretches hold a single hue while the turns flare through cyan, blue and green before settling back.
Every dot samples Perlin noise at its grid position — time moving through the noise's other axes — and turns the value into an angle. The dot is then offset by that angle's sine and cosine, and the cosine alone drives everything else: stroke weight, opacity and hue index are all mapped from it, a fake depth that fattens and brightens the near side of each fold. Two palettes alternate along a slowly moving diagonal, which is what slices contrasting colour across the ribbons.
