Every block of this cube-built digit owns a second address: it holds, glides to a randomly paired cell, holds, and swaps back, dissolving and re-forming the glyph.
The digit assembles from small boxes, holds legible for a beat, then loosens as every box slides off along its own path; mid-swap the glyph is a cloud of drifting blocks before snapping back into a readable figure. Landings overshoot slightly, so the mosaic jiggles as it re-forms.
At build time the glyph's cells are shuffled into pairs, giving each box two anchors — its home cell and a partner's. Playback eases each box through a hold-travel-hold schedule between the two, staggered per box so the swarm never moves in unison. Hue is read from a fixed noise field at the box's current position, so blocks change colour as they cross the canvas rather than carrying it with them.
