Shallow boxes pinned to a numeral's silhouette rock around their own axes with staggered timing, sweeping the glyph with feathered, brush-stroke ripples.
The numeral is a field of shallow tiles that never leave their cells; each one seesaws around its own axes, and because neighbouring tilts are offset, the rocking travels across the glyph as a ripple. At speed the strokes blur into a feathered, brushed texture, more pelt than pixel grid.
Outline points prune the grid down to the letterform, then every cell's tilt is a sine of the loop clock offset by its position — with the offsets computed in a slowly rotating coordinate frame, so the phase pattern curls instead of aligning to rows. Hue is Perlin noise over those rotated coordinates, which is why the colour bands sweep diagonally through the digit.
