On warm paper, the cells of an extruded numeral corkscrew in place as a wave crosses them — sweeping linearly, radially, or out from a wandering hand cursor.
A digit extruded into long square rods sits on warm paper, reading almost flat until the wave arrives: each cell it touches corkscrews around its axes and its fill thins to a translucent shell before settling. In the interactive mode a crosshair and a pointing-hand cursor sweep the canvas, and the twisting radiates from wherever they stand.
A boolean grid mask keeps only the cells the glyph covers; each cell's wave phase is the loop clock plus a directional gradient, its distance from the centre, or its distance to the cursor. That phase drives an elastic rotation choreography and the fill fade, while noise plus a cycling offset rolls the palette through the spectrum. The 3D pass renders offscreen and the cursor is stamped onto the flat canvas afterwards, so it can never sink into the scene.
