Torsade v0
Columns of twisted ribbon churn through the spectrum, thick satin folds shaded by their own motion trails on a near-black ground.
Vertical columns of ribbon twist in place, each fold rolling through reds, blues and golds as it turns. The background never fully clears, so every frame leaves a faint smear of the last one and the ribbons pick up soft, satin-like shading from their own motion.
Each column is hundreds of tiny strokes laid along a straight line, displaced by nested polar sine and cosine waves whose integer coefficients glide through a preset sequence — as a coefficient slides from, say, two lobes toward four, the twist changes character mid-column. Stroke weight waves between thin and very thick along the length, which is what turns a line of stamps into folded ribbon, and the near-transparent background wash supplies the trails. This is the seed of the series: every later version reworks this stamped-wave recipe.
