Ribbons v3 — Caterpillar up down
Stretched over the full height of the frame, the segmented body sways side to side as it inches between top and bottom margins.
The segmented creature now spans the whole height of the frame, head near one margin and tail near the other, swaying side to side as the bulges travel along its body over the faint grid.
Its sibling's closed orbit is cut open: vertical position maps straight down the canvas between two margins while the horizontal sway keeps the S-curve, plus an extra drift term that deepens the bends. The segment divisor itself now oscillates, so the bulges swell and shrink while they migrate, and more overlapping strands fatten the body.
