Photo — Switch tiles
A photograph tiled into a lattice whose cells defect to other photos in noise-driven waves, so several pictures interleave in one frame.
At rest the grid reads as a single image; then patches of tiles flip to the matching crops of a different photograph and the frame becomes a quilt of two or three pictures interleaved, every tile still showing the right piece for its position. The wave passes and the quilt settles into one image again — not necessarily the one it started as.
Each photo is cover-fitted once and sliced per cell, cached against the grid shape and the file list, so a flip costs a lookup. Which picture a tile shows is the loop index plus two noise samples — one over grid coordinates, one over canvas position — and it is the smoothness of that noise that groups defections into travelling patches instead of salt-and-pepper flicker.
