Braid v3 — Chainmail
European 4-in-1 maille assembling itself: rings on a half-offset lattice, each row tilted against its neighbours, the sheet scrolling up.
The braid family's armoury. Rings sit on a half-offset row lattice with every row tilted the opposite way to the ones beside it, so each ring interlocks with four others — the classic mail weave. The sheet scrolls upward while new rows materialise at an assembly front below.
The interlocking is not faked with layers: the rings are tori in a distance field, and a ring passes through its neighbours because the geometry says so.
