Trace vectors v15 — Changing speed
Ribbon layers in orange and blue pile into a knot that crawls around a grid in surges, while a gauge at the left edge reports the current speed.
A squashed knot of layered ribbons — orange, blue and magenta — sits over a labelled grid, dotted letter outlines surfacing at its edges; up the left side runs a dotted rail with a line climbing it between two crosses.
The clock driving both the letter morph and the path position is an accumulator fed by a stepped schedule of speeds eased with a back-ease, so the trace surges, overshoots and stalls rather than gliding. The rail is the same value plotted as a gauge, and as speed rises both the gauge and the strands blend toward red — the pace of the piece is legible in its colour.
