A compact knot of red satin turns at the heart of a thin red starburst, its lobes folding over one another with dark, glossy shading. The figure stays tight and self-contained, more clot than flower.
The stroke sweeps only half a turn and its line fan is pinched to half the circle as well, so the folded copies pile onto each other into a globule instead of opening into a bloom. A red-ramped palette replaces the spectral one, with the travelling brightness cycle doing the work of lighting; the rays behind are the family's radial backdrop in the same ink.
