Torsade shaders v3 — Medusa
A radial creature: tentacles reaching outward in every direction, each a chain of spinning dot clusters that fatten toward the tip.
For each direction a tentacle reaches out, and at every step along it a small cluster of dots is placed and spun by a per-step rotation. The dots fatten toward the tip, which takes a thin darkened endcap — thousands of dots per spiral at the defaults.
Each dot is now an instance rebuilt on the GPU from its cell index, so the whole medusa is one draw call. The glow of concentric rings is still drawn underneath on the CPU and the dots composite over it, which is what keeps the depth the original had.
