Hand tracking v12 — Mosaic
A blurred webcam frame carved into a coarse grid, every tile sampling a displaced crop — drifting on noise alone, or leaning toward fingers and cursor.
The picture stays recognisable but never settles: every cell of a coarse grid shows a slightly wrong patch of the same blurred frame, so edges shear and repeat like glass bricks, with thin colour fringes at the seams. Bring a pointer or a hand near and the surrounding tiles lean toward it; leave it alone and they drift on their own.
Each frame the feed is cover-fitted into a capped work buffer, blurred, then split into red, green and blue copies re-added at small horizontal offsets — that one pass makes the chromatic fringing. Every grid cell then samples a crop displaced either by drifting Perlin noise or by a distance-weighted pull toward each active pointer, which can be the mouse, a touch, the microphone level or MediaPipe fingertips tracked on the very camera being displayed.
