# Flowers v5 — Spiral Two plaited ropes of outlined circles in plain black on white; opaque discs stamped densely along an easing path bury each other into an engraved cable. Source: https://steevepommier.com/motion/flowers-v5-spiral/ Section: Motion Published: 2026-07-07 Tags: 2d, black and white --- Two plaited black-and-white ropes hang side by side, built from concentric rings that read like an engraving. At their ends the strands resolve into little bundles of circles, and the pair sways as the drawing path glides between corner anchors. Each stamp is no longer a star of strokes but a wreath of circles set around a polygon's edges, drawn opaque — white fill, black outline — so every new stamp buries the last and the overlap itself produces the cable shading. The inner wreath counter-rotates faster than the stamp advances, twisting the column into its plait, and the anchors ease with a bounce rather than a straight blend. It is the family's monochrome version: colour handling is dropped entirely in favour of ink-on-paper opacity.
